Is anyone else having loading time issues wit this game? It seems like I'm spending more time loading than playing. I've still got a phat PSP, though, so maybe it's better on a slim.

It's been about four hours on the ingame clock to get to ch. 2. My ps2 save at the same point was 2:00 even.

Other people are most definitely, and they addressed that by adding the "Jump Start" option of installing chunks of the game to a SD card.

If you're just loading from the UMD, you're going to experience a ton of slowdown. You should definitely enable the Jump Start function. It only requires 290MB of space on your memory stick, and it helps to run the game MUCH more smoothly.

Also, the game is usually a little slow once you just turn it on, but after a minute or two it speeds up once you've loaded data into the memory.

You should start from the first image, okay? And... Mitsuru, here's an image editor. It might be handy if you, the master of resizing, take it with you.

hmmm... I do have Jump Start turned on, but it only installed a 95 meg file. Are you guys playing off a retail unit or a devkit? Also, maybe it's because I have an original PSP and not a slim.

I have both. The dev kit loads levels faster, but it slows down on animations, especially in multi-player. The retail copy running on my slim loads quite slowly for the first couple of minutes, but then it picks up well.

I used to have problems with fishing and other timed games, but once I installed the Jump Start everything worked fine. It just takes a little warming up is all.

IGN says the loading times are terrible and Jump Start doesn't fix the problem. Sad

Didn't the FFT port have some stuttering or loading problems too? They should stop making PORTS and start making GAMES. I don't know why NIS has to port their games to every handheld possible, I mean that Prinny game was a step in the right direction, but every step forward they take two steps backwards.

I guess Disgaea on iPhone is next, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised. Sad

I don't buy their assertion that Jump Start doesn't work. If it's working for some people...

It just takes a little warming up is all.

...and not others, that points to a problem with their hardware. Like maybe they're using a horribly fragmented or slow-ass SD card? IMO that writer didn't do his research.

This just in: Playstation Portmachine is a horribly-made console.

To be fair, though, Pubbs, if this problem is coming up with this game exclusively then it could be a software problem as much as it is a hardware problem. It could be both, even: The *not great* hardware and the shittily-coded software not getting along with each other. Given NISA's ability to correctly import titles, it could be possible that they bogged something down when they added all those engrish letters.

Y'know, just for giggles, I turned Jump Start off for a battle. It makes a HUEG difference.

(shut up Safari spellchecker, that word's misspelled on purpose)

I got to the end of chapter two on my slim, and it only clocked in at about 15 min more than on my ps2 (and about 10 of that was me futzing around in dungeons.

So if you want to play this game decently, I hope you have at least a slim psp.
